MUSHROOM GARLIC BREAD

Who doesn’t love a good garlic bread. This mushroom garlic bread is even better than your ordinary garlic bread. This recipe is definitely a must try!



Ingredients

  • Button mushrooms

  • Whole garlic

  • Onions

  • Fresh parsley

  • Butter

  • Bread

  • Mozzarella cheese

  • Olive oil

  • Dried mixed herbs

  • Dried thyme

  • Salt

  • Pepper




Cooking and Preparation

  1. Remove the crown of your garlic and place in foil. Season with salt, olive oil and mixed herbs. Alternatively you can dice or grate garlic and set aside until it’s time to mix it with your butter.

  2. Wrap the garlic in the foil and bake at 200•C for 15-20 minutes or until soft.

  3. While your garlic is in the oven slice the mushrooms and onion. set aside.

  4. Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat and fry your onions until they turn golden.

  5. Add your mushrooms to your pan.

  6. Season with salt, pepper and dried thyme.

  7. Fry everything together for about 5 minutes or until the mushrooms are cooked to your liking.

  8. Reduce the heat or completely turn off the the stove and add chopped parsley to your mushrooms.

  9. Mix everything together and cover until it’s time to serve!

  10. Once your garlic is cooked fully, remove it from the foil and mix it with butter to make a beautiful garlic butter. (If you are using grated garlic add this to your butter).

  11. Spread your garlic butter on your bread and add mozzarella cheese or any cheese of your liking. Toast in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

  12. Remove the toast from the oven, add your mushrooms and enjoy a delicious mushroom garlic bread!
