Chocolate and wine, a perfect pairing.



Ingredients

  • Nederburg Merlot

  • Dark chocolate

  • Unsalted butter

  • Eggs

  • Vanilla extract

  • Salt

  • Sugar

  • Cocoa


Measurements

  • 113g chopped chocolate

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter,l

  • 2 tablespoons red wine

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder


Cooking and Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180•C

  2. Add your chocolate to a bowl with your butter. Melt your chocolate and butter in the microwave for about a minute.

  3. To your melted chocolate, add your wine, eggs, vanilla essence, egg yolk and salt. Whisk everything together.

  4. To the same mixture, add your sugar, flour and cocoa powder. Gently fold until the flour and cocoa are incorporated.

  5. Scoop your mixture into a muffin tray and bake at 180•C for 10-12 minutes.

  6. Once cooked leave in the tray to cook for about a minute or two then transfer to your plate and enjoy.
